Head of Litigation Location: North London Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 + Competitive Benefits PQE: 5+ Years OTE £100,000 -£120,000 per annum The Opportunity Are you a strategic litigator with a passion for leadership? We are looking for a Head of Litigation to spearhead our dispute resolution department. This isn't just a role for a technical expert; it’s a role for a visionary who can navigate complex legal landscapes while mentoring a high-performing team. As the Head of Litigation, you will take full ownership of the department’s caseload, strategy, and commercial growth. You will be the "go-to" advisor for our most significant clients and the primary architect of our litigation frameworks. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership: Oversee the department’s operations, ensuring high standards of service delivery and commercial viability. High-Value Caseload: Manage a diverse portfolio of complex litigation matters, including Housing Condition Claims, Business Energy and MOD Claims. Team Mentorship: Lead, develop, and inspire a team of solicitors and paralegals, fostering a culture of continuous learning. Business Development: Identify and secure new opportunities to expand the firm’s litigation footprint. Risk Management: Ensure all litigation activities comply with SRA regulations and internal risk protocols. About You You are a robust litigator who thrives under pressure and enjoys the challenge of leading people as much as winning cases. Qualified Solicitor: Currently admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in England & Wales. Experience: A minimum of 5 years Post-Qualified Experience (PQE) in litigation. Leadership Track Record: Proven experience managing a team or supervising junior fee earners. Communication: Exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to translate complex legal jargon into actionable business advice.
