Highways Electricians – Multiple Levels (£38k–£48k) Location: Works across London (first 6 months staying away in Leeds) Travel : Staying-away required during initial project phase (first 6 months Mon-Fri in Leeds) Depot Location: NW London (daily depot attendance not required) Hours: 07:00–16:00 We are recruiting multiple Highways Electricians at three qualification levels to support major highways electrical projects. My client carries out specialist electrical contracting services across the UK highways network, including street lighting, traffic systems, and wider electrical infrastructure on major motorway projects. Full training provided for those without Highways Electricians experience, including company paying for certification too! The initial first 6months will involve staying away during the week in Leeds on a major Highway project. Staying away uplift & meal allowance is £65 per day, which works out to be an additional £8450 in the first 6 months! Fully Qualified Highways Electrician (HERS / G39) Salary: Up to £48,000 Gold Card / NVQ Level 3 + HERS ECS Card Highways electrical experience Install, maintain, test and repair highways electrical assets Work to sector scheme standards G39 / HERS / NERS preferred (or willingness to obtain) Gold Card Electrician Salary: Up to £44,000 ECS Gold Card Strong electrical installation/maintenance background Highways training and certification provided by company (HERS/G39) Support installation, maintenance and testing works Electrician Working Toward Gold Card/NVQ L3 (Approx. 75% Complete) Salary: Up to £38,000 Progressing toward ECS Gold Card Good practical electrical experience Assist with installations, maintenance and testing Structured progression into highways sector Highways Electricians Core Responsibilities (All Levels) Install, maintain and repair highways electrical systems (Streetlights, Street Furniture, ANPR cameras, Speed Cameras, Message Signs, EV chargers, Highway Electrical Infrastructure etc.) Testing, inspection and documentation (level-appropriate) Work safely to sector scheme standards Travel across the UK with overnight stays during project phases Highways Electricians Pay Enhancements & Benefits Overtime: 1.5× (nights/Saturdays), 2× (Sundays) Staying-away uplift & Meal/expenses allowance: £65/day (in 6 months works out to be £8450)!
