Plumber Location: North West London Duration: 6 months Pay: £18.46 through an umbrella company A major London hospital trust is seeking a skilled Mechanical Craftsperson (Plumber) to join its in-house Estates team, supporting the safe and reliable operation of critical mechanical systems across a busy, multi-site healthcare estate. This hands-on role is essential to ensuring high-quality environments for patients, staff, and visitors. Key Responsibilities Perform statutory, routine, and reactive mechanical maintenance to ensure safe, compliant operation of building services. Carry out fault-finding, mechanical repairs, minor installations, and weekly/monthly testing including water safety tasks. Support mechanical contractors, apprentices, and wider Estates colleagues, helping maintain continuity of service across all sites. Follow Trust policies, safe systems of work, and permit processes, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety legislation and HTMs. Liaise professionally with service users, clinical teams, and partners to support safe, effective maintenance delivery. About You Recognised apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in mechanical engineering. Strong experience in mechanical maintenance , ideally within healthcare environments. Good working knowledge of HTMs , Health & Safety requirements, and safe systems of work. Confident carrying out planned and reactive tasks independently and as part of a team. Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work flexibly in a fast-paced environment. Computer literate and comfortable using digital maintenance systems
