Reed Talent Solutions are working with Transport for London on the search for a Welder Are you an experienced Welder looking for a hands-on role within the rail industry ? Do you take pride in producing high-quality engineering work and enjoy contributing to essential infrastructure projects? We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Welder to join TfL’s engineering team at Lillie Bridge Depot in Fulham. In this role, you will play a vital part in producing and maintaining key components that support the safe and efficient running of London’s transport network. Details: Client: TFL Pay Rate: £31.14 per hour PAYE or £40.54 per hour Umbrella Hours: 35h week Location: Lillie Bridge Depot, Fulham, W14 9LP Contract Type: 3-month rolling contract WFH: Not available Key Responsibilities: Welding Processes: Perform MIG and TIG welding on aluminium. Infrastructure Maintenance: Undertake welding activities in workshops and on-site for track maintenance and repairs to keep the railway operational. Inspection & Quality: Carry out non-destructive testing, destructive testing on test specimens, and ensure compliance with BS EN & ISO 9606 standards. Documentation: Interpret engineering drawings, produce dimensional reports, and compile quality documentation packs. Essential Requirements: Valid welder coding: BS EN ISO 9606 (or equivalent) Aluminium welding Welding apprenticeship or recognised qualifications Strong proficiency in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding Burning skills (oxy-acetylene and plasma) Ability to work confidently in a heavy engineering environment Adaptable, reliable, and safety-focused Desirable Skills & Experience: Previous experience working within the railway industry Minimum 5 years’ welding experience Experience with profile burning (oxy-acetylene or plasma) Heavy engineering background Additional Information: PPE will be provided Training will be supplied where necessary This role may be extended on a rolling basis Complete a trade test during the interview process Join TfL and be part of a team supporting the vital work that keeps London moving safely and efficiently.
