The Role: Head of Operations This strategic and hands on leadership role spans two key UK sites—Bolton (primary DC, warehouse, technical workshop, refurbishment) and Northampton (customer excellence and demo centre, secondary logistics point). Reporting to the UK Managing Director, you will lead all end to end operations, including: • Logistics & Warehousing – inbound/outbound flows, inventory, material movement, picking/packing, OTIF performance • Workshop / Technical Services – repair, refurbishment, PDI, technical support • Transport & Fleet – vans, HGVs, demo drivers, O Licence compliance • Health & Safety – site leadership, compliance, standards • ERP / SAP Transformation – system discipline, SAP S/4HANA readiness, scanning/WMS adoption • People Leadership – developing supervisors/managers, cultural integration across both sites Key Responsibilities • Lead and optimise warehouse, logistics, workshop and transport operations across Bolton and Northampton. • Deliver high levels of inventory accuracy, OTIF, lead time performance, productivity and customer satisfaction. • Oversee reverse logistics, repairs, refurbishment and PDI activity. • Drive continuous improvement, Lean thinking and standardised processes across both sites. • Lead and support the UK migration to SAP S/4HANA, ensuring operational readiness and effective adoption of ERP/WMS tools. • Manage budgets, operational costs and performance KPIs. • Build strong cross functional partnerships with Sales, Service, Engineering and EMEA leadership. Candidate Profile To succeed, you will bring: • Multi site operations leadership experience (essential). • Strong background in logistics, warehousing, distribution, workshop/technical operations or industrial equipment environments. • Experience across end to end service operations, including repairs, refurbishments and reverse logistics. • ERP implementation or migration experience—SAP S/4HANA highly advantageous. • A calm, people centred, emotionally intelligent leadership style—credible at all levels. • Ability to “muck in” when needed while driving strategic improvements. • Customer centric mindset with experience supporting service intensive B2B contracts. • Transport Manager CPC preferred (support provided if required).
