From motorcycles to vacuum cleaners, the products are everywhere, and we are looking for a talented Day Electrician to join our dynamic team in Dumfries. Role Overview As a Day Electrician, you will be an integral part of our local Engineering team. Your primary responsibilities will include maintaining and improving the plant equipment and process machinery, including PLCs and Electrical Drive Systems. You will also play a key role in training apprentices, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental procedures, and supporting facility projects. Key Responsibilities Adhere to Company and Legislative Safety, Compliance and Environmental procedures. Communicate effectively with team members. Perform electrical maintenance (reactive, planned, and improvement) on plant equipment. Mentor apprentices and define best practices. Conduct installation work (3 phase, single phase, containment, and network cabling). Support site continual investment projects. Perform portable appliance testing. Requirements Essential Experience: Educated to City & Guilds or SVQ Level 3 (Electrical) and be a time-served electrician. Previous experience in an industrial environment post-qualification. Basic understanding of ventilation, pneumatic, hydraulic, and steam service systems. Desirable Experience: Knowledge of Siemens PLC logic, programming, fault diagnosis, and repair. Experience with industrial robotics. Detailed knowledge of plant equipment safety and interlocking functions. Familiarity with 18th Edition Wiring Regulations. Required Skills: Reactive and proactive attitude towards equipment repair and lifecycle management. Determination, drive, and willingness to learn. Knowledge of Electrical Control and Electrical Drive systems. Logical approach to fault finding and problem-solving. Ability to understand and update Electrical Schematics and control documentation.
