Job description As a member of the local Engineering team in our Dumfries facility, the 11-hour day shift Electrician will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving our plant equipment and process machinery. This full-time position demands a competent, suitably qualified, and experienced individual who can work both independently and as part of a team to meet operational demands. Key Responsibilities: Perform electrical maintenance (reactive, planned, and improvement) on plant equipment and process machinery, including PLCs and Electrical Drive Systems. Conduct electrical breakdown repairs, with training provided. Install 3-phase, single-phase, and containment systems, including network cabling and portable appliance testing. Support facility projects and task-based work, contributing to site continual investment. Mentor apprentices, providing training, guidance, and demonstrating best practices. Keys to Success: Strong electrical maintenance skills, particularly with PLCs and drive systems. Logical approach to fault finding and preventative maintenance. Commitment to health, safety, and environmental compliance. Effective communication skills and a team-oriented mindset. Willingness to learn new technologies and undergo training. Reliability and self-motivation, capable of working independently on shifts. Requirements: Educated to City & Guilds or SVQ Level 3 (Electrical) or equivalent, and be a time-served electrician. Training to 18th Edition Wiring Regulations is advantageous. Experience in a similar role within an industrial environment post-qualification.
