Job summary

Senior Maintenance Electrician Venn Group is partnering with a leading university to recruit a skilled Electrician to support the safe and reliable operation of electrical systems across a large, multi-site estate. Location: Berkshire Contract: Permanent, 36 hours/week Salary: total package £42k plus potential additional responsibility payments for specific qualifications and skills. The Role You will deliver planned and reactive maintenance across power, lighting, fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, LV networks, and associated plant. Working independently, you’ll diagnose faults and support statutory compliance while ensuring a high-quality, customer-focused service. Key Responsibilities Maintain, repair and test electrical systems, lighting, LV distribution, and ancillary plant. Support fire alarm and emergency lighting testing. Carry out CAT scanning and act as LV Authorised Person (training provided). Install, fault-find and repair electrical equipment and temporary event cabling. Keep accurate digital records via CAFM. Support apprentices and liaise with specialist contractors. Ensure safe working practices, risk assessments and compliance with legislation. About You Essential: NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds, AM2, and 18th Edition. Strong fault-finding skills and experience in planned/reactive electrical maintenance. Good IT skills (tablet/CAFM) and ability to prioritise workload. Strong customer-service skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team. H&S awareness and understanding of electrical safe systems of work. Full UK driving licence and willingness to join the on-call rota. Additional Info On-call rota approx. 1 in 4/5 weekends + standby & call-out payments.
