General Groundworkers

Job summary

Role: General Groundwork Pay: £17.00 - £19.00 per hour Location: Swindon Based Responsive Personnel are looking for General Groundworkers . The ideal candidates will have hands-on experience in groundworks and civil construction tasks, and the ability to work safely and efficiently both independently and as part of a team. Key Responsibilities: Concreting works, including preparation, pouring, and finishing. Shuttering and formwork for various structures. Pipe laying for shallow and deep excavations. Sheeting and framing operations (ticketed operators preferred). Mechanical installation of pipework and associated fittings. Operate plant and machinery safely, including: Excavators (up to and over 10 tons, ticket required) Dumpers (ticket required) Reading and interpreting drawings and specifications. Setting out and maintaining levels according to project requirements. Adhering to all site safety procedures and PPE requirements. Essential Skills & Qualifications: Proven experience as a groundworker in civil engineering or construction projects. Relevant tickets/certifications for sheeting, framing, excavator, and dumper operations. Ability to read and work from technical drawings. Self-motivated, reliable, and capable of working under minimal supervision. Strong understanding of site safety procedures and hazard awareness. Desirable Attributes: Experience in working on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects. Ability to mentor or guide junior operatives. Flexible and adaptable to different tasks as required by the project.
