The Role: We're looking for a Finance Assistant to cover maternity leave on a temp-to-perm basis. The role is initially fixed-term, with the potential for longer-term opportunities depending on business needs. This is a hands-on role within a small business, ideal for someone who enjoys variety, taking responsibility, and being closely involved in how the business runs day-to-day. You'll work alongside the Finance Director and support the smooth running of the finance function across the company. As Finance Assistant, you will have all the day-to-day management you would expect in a role of this type including: Managing Accounts Receivable to include debtor management, raising sales invoices and chasing payments Working with Project Managers to request purchase orders Processing and administration of business credit cards Overseeing and assisting the Purchase Ledger and Accounts Payable function Twice monthly creditor payment runs Handling payments and receipts and reconciling the bank account Assisting with month-end accounts including accruals and prepayments, maintaining the fixed asset register, handling depreciation and disposals and reconciling balance sheet accounts UK VAT returns Ad hoc accounting related tasks and providing general back up support to the Finance Director What We're Looking For: AAT qualified or similarly qualified, with the ability to hit the ground running A mature, confident approach and the willingness to take responsibility where needed An understanding that working in a small business is very different from corporate life - and enthusiasm for being part of a close-knit team of 20+ creative professionals Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure Microsoft Office skills (desirable) This is a fully office-based role and due to our rural location, applicants must have their own transport.
