Sales and Customer Service Assistant Salary: £26,000 - £30,000 Job Type: Full-time Location: Cullompton We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Sales and Customer Service Assistant to join our client's busy team. This role involves assisting and advising customers both in the depot and over the phone, ensuring that the customer service standards are consistently met or exceeded. You will play a key role in driving sales growth through effective customer engagement and sales management. Day-to-day of the role: Assist customers at the trade counter and within the branch, providing expert advice and support. Prepare accurate and competitive quotations to maintain required margins. Offer recommendations on various options, upgrades, and extras while quoting. Regularly review quotations, track success rates, and analyse missed opportunities. Maintain up-to-date sales records and perform follow-up calls on quotes as needed. Provide feedback on competitor pricing to ensure our company remains competitive. Process orders efficiently, ensuring stock availability and keeping customers informed about their order status. Ensure all products leaving the premises have the correct paperwork and payment processing adheres to company policies. Merchandise the shop area to maintain a professional image. Assist the manager with stock ordering to secure competitive prices for quality products. Participate in shows, including setup and takedown, and compile reviews to aid future planning. Support various operational tasks as needed, including goods receipt, stock display, and maintenance. Required Skills & Qualifications: Previous experience within a sales/retail assistant orientated role A background in Trades, Construction, Agriculture, DIY or Landscaping Computer literacy and ability to use internal systems after training. Excellent customer service skills, both in-person and over the phone. Positive, forward-thinking attitude with a strong emphasis on teamwork.
