Job summary

Auto Electrician Leyland Salary 33-36k DOE 22 holidays plus bank holidays. Early finish Fridays. Mon-Fri, 40 hours per week The Role: We are looking for a skilled and motivated Auto Electrician to join our workshop team. This role involves building, refurbishing, and repairing refuse vehicles, with a focus on electrical systems. You will be responsible for installing, testing, and diagnosing electrical components on both new and used commercial waste vehicles. Key Responsibilities: Install wiring looms, lighting, and electronic systems on commercial vehicle chassis and bodies. Fit and connect bin lift control systems, CANbus systems, reverse cameras, warning lights, beacons, and sensors. Read and interpret wiring diagrams, technical drawings, and build specifications. Carry out diagnostics and fault-finding using multimeters and other diagnostic tools. Ensure all work meets high-quality standards and complies with health and safety regulations. Contribute to continuous improvement of electrical processes within the production line. Collaborate with other departments, including mechanical fitters, body builders, and quality control, to maintain efficient workflow. Candidate Requirements Minimum 3 years’ Auto electrical experience Relevant technical qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Auto electrics, City & Guilds, or equivalent). Able to work independently in a busy workshop environment while following safety procedures. Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills. SER-IN
