Electrician – Streetlighting & Highway Technology £44,000 + Company Van + Full Benefits Package Street Lighting & Highway Electrical Infrastructure Wellingborough, Northamptonshire | Permanent | Excellent Overtime Potential The Electrician – Streetlighting & Highway Technology Opportunity A rapidly growing infrastructure contractor is seeking a skilled Electrician to join their Street Lighting & Electrical team in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire . This is a hands-on, varied role where no two days are the same — ideal for someone who enjoys installation, testing, fault-finding, and working outdoors across live highway environments. Electricians with no experience in Streetlighting will also be considered and training offered. You must have a good level of experience in Commercial & Industrial works to be considered. You’ll play a key part in delivering electrical works on street lighting, highway tech, and street furniture assets, with a competitive £44k salary , company van , and a full benefits package . The Electrician – Streetlighting & Highway Technology Role As an Electrician, you will be responsible for the installation, testing, inspection, and maintenance of electrical infrastructure associated with street lighting and street furniture. Your duties will include: SWA terminations into lighting columns and feeder pillars Testing, inspection, and completion of electrical certification Fault-finding and electrical surveys across highway assets Cable pulling and jointing Liaising with clients and internal teams on site Completing risk assessments prior to work activities Ensuring all installations meet required standards, deadlines, and budgets Completing documentation, raising on-site issues, and maintaining accurate records Promoting a safe working environment and adhering to all QEHS procedures Reporting QEHS issues via internal systems (Eyes & Ears App) You’ll be primarily based at the Wellingborough depot , with regular travel between sites, occasional nights away, and night-shift work when required. Candidate Profile We’re looking for someone who is: Confident working nights and staying away when required Physically capable of manual work Committed to delivering high-quality installations on time and within budget Safety-focused with strong awareness of risks and proactive problem-solving A strong communicator who works well within a team Diligent with PPE, vehicle checks, and tool maintenance Comfortable working in a fast-paced contracting environment where priorities can shift Qualifications & Experience ECS/CSCS Card G39 & IPAF City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation Inspection & Testing qualification (HESA or C&G) Full UK Driving Licence Experience in electrical street lighting is desirable but not essential Commercial/ Industrial experience is essential Strong commitment to QEHS compliance and reporting What’s On Offer £44,000 salary Company van (fully equipped) Full benefits package Overtime opportunities Training, development, and career progression Supportive, collaborative working environment Opportunity to grow with a business entering a major expansion phase winning new contracts every month!
