Job summary

Mechanical Fitter We are currently recruiting an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our engineering team based in Barton-under-Needwood . This is an opportunity to work on complex, heavy mechanical systems. The Role: As a Fitter, you will be responsible for the stripping, rebuilding, and overhaul of heavy mechanical assemblies used within the rail industry. The role requires a hands-on, methodical approach with a strong focus on quality and safety. Key Responsibilities: Strip down, inspect, and survey mechanical units Rebuild and assemble components to engineering specifications Working on transmission and gear boxes Overhaul and test mechanical systems including: Fluid couplings Rail transmissions Torque-limiting couplings Identify wear, faults, and required repairs Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and within agreed timescales Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to health & safety procedures Working Hours: 40 hours per week
