Job summary

Futures are looking to appoint a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our client, a well known manufacturing business The successful Mechanical Fitter will be responsible for the assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair of hydraulic and mechanical systems. This is a hands-on role suited to a proactive individual with strong fault-finding capabilities and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship both in-house and on customer sites. Key Responsibilities: Assemble, build, and test hydraulic systems and components in-house, including hydraulic power units (HPUs), manifolds, and cylinders. Install and commission mechanical equipment such as motors, gearboxes, and bearings. Carry out fault diagnosis on hydraulic and mechanical systems, identifying root causes and implementing effective repair solutions. Perform both reactive breakdown maintenance and planned preventative maintenance activities. Conduct off-site service, maintenance, and installation work at customer locations. Travel to customer sites as required, including occasional overseas assignments. Ensure all work is carried out in line with health and safety standards and company procedures. Key Requirements: Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter or in a similar role. Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems and mechanical equipment. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics. Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills. Flexible approach to travel, including occasional international work.
