Job summary
Your Company: NET Recruit are delighted to be partnering with a well-established, internationally recognised organisation who are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Fitter to join their team. This is a field-based role, primarily operating from a main base in Rugby. You will be working on a variety of plant, equipment, and fixed installations, often in challenging and fast-paced environments. The role offers excellent variety, responsibility, and long-term development within a growing engineering business. Your Roles and Responsibilities While in this role your duties may include but are not limited to: Carrying out mechanical maintenance, repair, and installation work at customer sites Diagnosing faults and carrying out effective rectification of mechanical defects Ensuring all work meets required safety, quality, and performance standards Reading and working from engineering drawings to complete installations and repairs Supervising and coordinating subcontractors where required Liaising with customers on-site to ensure clear communication and service delivery Completing all relevant job documentation accurately and in line with procedures Working in accordance with company SHEQ systems and client site requirements Supporting installation and decommissioning of plant and equipment What You Will Need To Apply Please apply ONLY if you meet the following criteria: NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent qualification) Proven experience in mechanical field service, installation, or maintenance Background working within industries such as food, construction, quarrying, waste, or utilities Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings Good fault-finding, diagnostic, and practical problem-solving skills Confident decision-making ability and strong communication skills Ability to work independently and under pressure in a field-based environment Full UK Driving Licence Willingness to travel and work away from home during the week Willingness to undergo or obtain security clearance if required What You Will Get In Return: This role is ideal for a hands-on Mechanical Fitter who enjoys field-based work, problem-solving, and contributing to critical industrial maintenance and installation projects across multiple sectors..
