Mechanical Fitter Location: Worcester Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Salary: £32,500 per annum Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 8:30am – 5:30pm, Friday 8:30am – 1:00pm Benefits: 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays | Pension (3% Employer / 5% Employee) | Overtime Available The Company Our client is a well-established and growing engineering manufacturer specialising in high-performance automated machinery used across a range of industrial sectors. Due to continued growth and increased demand, they are now seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join their engineering team. The Role As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for the mechanical assembly, installation, and maintenance of specialist automated machinery. This is a hands-on engineering role suited to someone who enjoys precision work, problem-solving, and working with complex mechanical systems. Key Responsibilities Build and assemble mechanical components and machinery to engineering specifications Install and align mechanical systems including conveyors, rotary components, and associated equipment Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and bills of materials (BOMs) Carry out machine fitting, testing, and commissioning activities Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out corrective maintenance Support machine upgrades, refurbishments, and changeovers Work collaboratively with electrical and controls teams during build and commissioning Ensure all work meets quality, safety, and compliance standards About You We are looking for a motivated and skilled Mechanical Fitter who takes pride in producing high-quality work and enjoys working in a team-based engineering environment. Essential Skills & Experience Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter, Machine Builder, or similar engineering role Strong mechanical assembly and fault-finding skills Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings Experience working with bearings, shafts, gearboxes, and mechanical alignment Competent in the use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment Good understanding of safe working practices Desirable (Not Essential) Experience working with automated or special purpose machinery Knowledge of conveyors, rotary systems, or pneumatic equipment Basic understanding of pneumatic or hydraulic systems Willingness to support occasional site-based work if required What’s on Offer Salary of £32,500 per annum Monday–Thursday 8:30am–5:30pm, early Friday finish at 1:00pm 25 days holiday plus bank holidays Company pension (3% employer / 5% employee contribution) Overtime available Training and development opportunities Long-term career prospects within a growing engineering business Supportive and professional working environment How to Apply To apply for this role or to find out more information, please contact: Dan Walton Email: Phone: SER-IN
