Pay & Benefits £14-18 per hour (depending on experience) Overtime available at overtime rates Weekly earnings £800 – £1,200+ achievable Ongoing, secure work Opportunity for progression within a growing operation The Role You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a fleet of municipal HGV vehicles, ensuring they are safe, compliant, and fully operational at all times. This is a hands-on, varied role ideal for experienced mechanics who take pride in quality workmanship. Key Responsibilities Carry out routine inspections, servicing, and diagnostics on HGVs Repair and maintain engines, gearboxes, braking systems, and suspension Perform preventative maintenance (oil changes, tyres, fluid checks) Diagnose faults using specialist tools and diagnostic equipment Maintain accurate service and repair records Ensure all work meets health & safety and compliance standards Work closely with fleet and transport teams to minimise downtime Assist with ordering parts and materials when required Requirements Proven experience as an HGV or commercial vehicle mechanic NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) preferred Strong knowledge of diesel engines and HGV systems Ability to diagnose and repair faults efficiently Good attention to detail and record keeping Ability to work independently and as part of a team Full UK driving licence (HGV licence desirable but not essential) Strong commitment to safety and quality standards What We Offer Competitive hourly rates based on experience Stable, long-term work Supportive and professional working environment Opportunity to develop within a growing company Immediate starts available
