Job summary

We are working with a well-established automotive business to recruit a skilled Vehicle Technician to join their workshop team in Northallerton. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified mechanic or technician to work with modern diagnostic technology, carry out servicing, repairs, and vehicle health checks, and contribute to a high-performing aftersales operation. Full manufacturer training and accreditation opportunities are available, including hybrid and electric vehicle training, supporting long-term career progression. Key Responsibilities Carry out vehicle health checks using the latest diagnostic tools and technology Perform servicing, maintenance, and repairs in line with manufacturer standards Conduct pre-delivery inspections on new and used vehicles Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults, including basic diagnostics Complete warranty repairs and ensure accurate documentation is maintained Fit accessories and carry out minor repairs where required Road test vehicles to confirm repairs and ensure quality standards are met Complete all job cards, service records, and associated paperwork accurately Work collaboratively with the workshop team to ensure efficient workflow and high service standards Requirements NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician or Mechanic (main dealer or independent garage) Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills Ability to work to manufacturer and industry standards Full UK driving licence Self-motivated with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement Benefits Competitive salary with clear progression structure Uncapped earning potential (OTE up to £50,000+) Bonus schemes including productivity and efficiency rewards Manufacturer training and accreditation opportunities Hybrid and electric vehicle training included Enhanced annual leave (increasing with service) Enhanced family leave policies Health and wellbeing support including 24/7 GP access and dental cover Financial wellbeing tools including pay access schemes and insurance options Retail, lifestyle, and gym discounts About You You will be a motivated and skilled technician who takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship, enjoys problem-solving, and is keen to develop further within a supportive and forward-thinking workshop environment. Additional Information: Salary: OTE up to £50,000+ (Uncapped) Basic salary: £28,000 – £43,000 (depending on qualifications & experience) Plus £3,000 Productivity Bonus + Time Saved Bonus Scheme Working hours: 40 hours between Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm, plus 1 in 3 Saturdays 8:30am - 12:30pm
