Job summary
Welder/Fabricator Location: Ashford, UK Job Type: Full-time Salary: Competitive Join a leading specialist in the manufacturing and installation of Steel & Timber Security and Fire Doors, and associated products. We are looking for a driven Welder/Fabricator to join our team in Ashford. This role involves manufacturing products from scratch according to specified drawings to meet our sales targets and customer specifications. Day-to-day of the role: Weld, fabricate, and assemble steel frames, doors, and panel variants from detailed project/product drawings. Undertake the welding, fabrication, and assembly process for steel components and sub-assembly parts used for standard stock requirements. Ensure quality, consistency, and integrity throughout the manufacturing process. Self-inspect completed works to ensure they meet the quality standards of the business. Proactively report any issues, problems, or variances during the welding and fabrication process to your line manager. Contribute to the company’s continuous improvement initiatives by providing ideas and suggestions. Required Skills & Qualifications: Previous experience or knowledge in a similar role using MIG welding and fabrication of metal products is advantageous. Strong attention to detail and proven ability to organise workload within strict timeframes to maintain delivery schedules. Strong mechanical knowledge and proficiency in various welding techniques. Experience with Epicor/Vantage is beneficial but not essential. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. Highly organised with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
