Welder – Northampton Shift: 06:00 - 14:00 OR 14:00–22:00, Monday to Friday (38 hours per week) Salary: £16.25 plus £1 shift allowance for PM shift Contract: Permanent Optimum TA are recruiting for a skilled Welder to join a well-established manufacturing business in Northampton. You’ll be part of a busy, supportive team producing high-quality metal components used across the power generation sector. What you’ll be doing: Tack and weld metal components to engineering drawings Check the quality of parts before and after welding Measure, grind, and fettle welded parts using air and electric hand tools Support general workshop duties as required (training provided) What we’re looking for: Ability to weld to AWSD 1.1 standards (or similar) Able to read and work from technical drawings Positive, can-do attitude and hands-on approach Good communication and teamwork skills Flexibility and attention to detail Training and Qualifications: You’ll complete a company welding test before starting, and once onboard, you’ll be trained to AWSD 1.1 welding standard.
