Job summary
We are currently seeking a skilled and proactive Mechanical Fitter to join our maintenance team within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is critical in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of production machinery through a combination of planned, reactive, and continuous improvement maintenance activities. Key Responsibilities Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to ensure optimal performance of manufacturing equipment Respond promptly to machinery breakdowns, diagnosing faults and implementing effective repairs Minimise production downtime through efficient fault finding and resolution Collaborate closely with production teams to coordinate maintenance schedules and reduce disruption Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and operational efficiency Ensure all work is carried out in line with health & safety regulations and company standards Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation Requirements Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter or Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing or industrial setting Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks effectively Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams Relevant engineering qualifications (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
