Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be working on behalf of a bespoke manufacturer in Sheffield to recruit a Mechanical Fitter. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly innovative business that operates at the forefront of their industry, offering varied work across prototype and small-batch production builds. Mechanical Fitter Location: Sheffield Salary: Competitive DOE Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 7:30am – 4:00pm, Friday 7:30am – 11:30am Key Responsibilities: Mechanical assembly and machine builds from engineering drawings Small-batch production: fitting, building, and final assembly Prototype builds for new product development Support build readiness: design for manufacture, build processes, quality, and safety Inspect and control build quality – ensuring dimensions and characteristics are correct Record manufacturing knowledge and support continuous improvement activities Assist with Stores functions – control of incoming materials and production orders Maintain accurate records: route cards and timesheets Carry out general maintenance tasks to ensure a clean, safe, and efficient workshop Requirements: Excellent hands-on mechanical fitting skills Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical instructions Strong communication and problem-solving skills IT literate – confident with MS Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel) Manual machining skills are desirable but not essential Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team Qualifications & Experience: BTEC Level 3 or equivalent in a mechanical discipline Experience in prototyping and small-batch manufacturing Background in electrical or rotating machinery is advantageous Exposure to lean manufacturing is desirable Knowledge of winding, impregnation, or assembly of high-strength magnets is a plus Benefits: 25 days holiday + stats Company pension EV Scheme Healthcare Banked hours scheme If you’re a mechanically-minded individual looking for a hands-on role within a forward-thinking business that invests in its people and products, we want to hear from you.
