Welder Salary: £30,000–£35,000 Hours: 37.5 hours per week Monday–Friday Location: On-site in Solihull A manufacturing business based in Solihull is looking for an experienced Welder to join its on-site production team. The company specialises in designing and producing precision-engineered stainless-steel equipment for healthcare, pharmaceutical, and life-science environments. Its products include clinical sinks, decontamination systems, bespoke fabrications, and specialist workflow solutions — all built to exceptionally high standards. The Role You’ll be responsible for fabricating and assembling metal components using a range of welding techniques to ensure every product meets strict quality, safety, and performance requirements. Key responsibilities include: Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications Performing MIG, TIG, and arc welding Preparing materials through cutting, grinding, and cleaning Inspecting welds to ensure they meet quality standards Repairing and maintaining metal structures and equipment Operating welding tools and machinery safely Working closely with engineers and production teams Maintaining accurate records of completed work About You Proven experience as a welder or similar role Welding certification (City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent) preferred but not essential Ability to read technical drawings Strong attention to detail and precision Good understanding of safety standards Able to work independently and as part of a team Key skills: MIG, TIG, and arc welding proficiency, problem-solving, manual dexterity, time management, and clear communication.
