HGV Mechanic / Technician Location: [Insert Location] Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Salary: Competitive (DOE) We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced and motivated HGV Mechanic / Technician to join a well-established and growing operation. This is an excellent opportunity to join a business that has recently invested in a brand-new workshop facility and is committed to maintaining high operational and safety standards. The Role The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining and repairing a fleet of HGV vehicles and associated equipment to ensure maximum reliability and performance. Key Responsibilities Carry out routine inspections to identify and address potential mechanical issues Accurately diagnose faults using specialist diagnostic equipment Repair or replace defective components in line with manufacturer specifications Complete preventative maintenance to reduce downtime Maintain accurate service and repair records Support the installation and commissioning of new equipment where required Ensure all work areas are kept clean, organised and compliant with health & safety regulations Work collaboratively with colleagues to uphold safety and operational standards About You Proven experience as an HGV Mechanic or in a similar heavy vehicle/mechanical role Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical components Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively Relevant qualifications (City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or similar) IRTEC accreditation desirable Full UK Driving Licence Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment Must have own tools (company van supplied) What’s on Offer Competitive salary based on experience Newly invested workshop facility Supportive working environment Opportunity for long-term stability and development For more information or to apply, please submit your CV in confidence.
