Your new company A well-established higher education institution in Manchester is seeking an experienced and qualified Grounds Maintenance Supervisor to lead the delivery of high-quality grounds services across a large, varied, and prestigious campus estate. This long-term temporary role offers excellent stability and the opportunity to supervise a dedicated grounds team responsible for maintaining a safe, attractive, and sustainable outdoor environment for students, staff, and visitors. Your new role Supervise and coordinate a team of Grounds Maintenance Operatives, providing daily leadership, task allocation, and performance oversight. Ensure timely completion of grounds maintenance activities including mowing, pruning, hedge trimming, planting, weeding, litter picking, and seasonal tasks. Support the planning and delivery of landscaping projects, improvements, and planting schemes. Oversee the safe operation, maintenance, and scheduling of ground machinery and equipment. Conduct regular site inspections to identify issues, hazards, or required improvements and ensure corrective actions are taken promptly. What you'll need to succeed Proven ground maintenance experience, including supervisory or team-leading responsibilities. PA1/PA6 pesticide application certification.
