Job summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Mechanical Fitter to join our client’s engineering team. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional strong mechanical maintenance experience in assembling, maintaining, and repairing industrial machinery. You will play a key role in ensuring equipment operates efficiently, safely, and in line with production requirements. Key Responsibilities Assemble, install, and maintain mechanical systems and machinery according to technical drawings and specifications Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on mechanical equipment Perform routine maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and manuals Use a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively Work collaboratively with engineers, technicians, and production staff Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work Required Skills & Experience Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter or in a similar role Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail Relevant engineering qualification or apprenticeship (preferred) Ability to work independently and as part of a team Desirable Qualifications NVQ Level 2/3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment Knowledge of preventative maintenance systems
