Description Develop and lead a sophisticated public affairs programme to build trusted, proactive relationships with MPs, Councillors, the London Assembly, and key government departments. Act as a credible ambassador for the organisation, articulating our ambitious investment plans and our vital contribution to solving the UK's housing crisis to influential external audiences. Identify emerging political and policy risks and provide high-level briefings to senior leadership to inform strategic decision-making and maintain our reputation. Lead on shaping clear policy positions that align with our business objectives and respond effectively to the evolving legislative, economic, and social housing landscape. Oversee the delivery of a high-quality casework service for elected representatives, ensuring resident needs are prioritised and systemic issues are identified and addressed. Profile You bring a track record of success in government relations or political engagement, likely gained within a complex regulated environment, the civil service, or a parliamentary setting. You possess a sharp radar for risk, with the ability to scan the political horizon, anticipate reputational challenges, and provide clear, strategic counsel to senior leaders. You excel at distilling complex policy and operational data into clear, compelling narratives for diverse audiences, ranging from high-profile MPs to internal frontline teams. You are a skilled diplomat who can cultivate trusted, resilient relationships with influential stakeholders and navigate high-pressure situations with composure and tact. You are a critical thinker who is comfortable diving into the detail of casework and policy, while remaining flexible enough to pivot toward crisis communications and incident response when required.
